Newly acquired Patriots cornerback Aqib Talib will make his New England debut Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. The Patriots announced Saturday evening that they have activated the talented but troubled cornerback.

New England worked out a trade with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for Talib in an effort to fix its struggling pass defense. The Patriots are ranked 28th against the pass, which is the team’s biggest hole.

Coming off a suspension this week, Talib apparently impressed New England’s coaching staff enough to be activated. It's unknown how big a role Talib will play on Sunday, whether as a starter or a backup.

The Patriots also signed receiver Greg Salas off the practice squad. To make room for the moves, New England released veteran receiver Deion Branch and defensive back Malcolm Williams.
