There was a lot of buzz about the Miami Dolphins this week. They are the early winners in free agency after signing speedy receiver Mike Wallace, linebackers Dannell Ellerbe and Philip Wheeler and re-signing starting safety Chris Clemons.

Miami plugged some needs and upgraded others. But did Miami catch up to the New England Patriots?

Not yet, according to our AFC East poll.

Despite losing Pro Bowl receiver Wes Welker, more voters in our community still believe New England is the preseason favorites in the AFC East. The Patriots still have quarterback Tom Brady and dynamic tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez. Miami has to show growth on offense with second-year quarterback Ryan Tannehill. But the voting was close.

It will be interesting to watch how both teams continue to upgrade their rosters this offseason. Miami is working hard to catch up to New England, while the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills are lagging behind thus far in free agency.
