Te'o is reportedly en route to South Florida for a visit. The Dolphins can host up to 30 total draft prospects, but this latest meeting with Te'o is a bit surprising.
The Dolphins just spent $51 million combined to sign free-agent linebackers Dannell Ellerbe and Philip Wheeler. The starting lineup of Ellerbe, Wheeler and Koa Misi appear set for the Dolphins with no room for Te'o. The Notre Dame linebacker also is a projected late-first round pick. Miami holds the No. 12 overall pick, which also doesn't match.
I wouldn't make too much of Miami's interest in Te'o. It could simply be due diligence on the Dolphins’ part. Unless Te’o falls to the second or third round, I would be shocked if Miami calls his name on draft day.
Would the Miami Dolphins select Manti Te'o in the NFL draft? According to the Palm Beach Post, the Dolphins are expressing some level of interest in the controversial Notre Dame linebacker.
