Mark Sanchez is in the Top 5, but not of a category he wants to be in.

Forbes recently published a list of the most disliked players in the NFL.

Sanchez
Here’s the rundown:

1. Eagles quarterback Michael Vick
2. Chargers linebacker Manti Te'o
3. Detroit defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh
4. Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger
5. Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez

It’s easy to see why Vick, who served time in a federal prison for charges stemming from a dogfighting operation, is one of the most disliked players in the NFL. Ditto for Roethlisberger, who was the focus of two sexual assault investigations -- though no charges were levied against him.

But Sanchez? Is the headband really that bad?

Yes, Sanchez threw a lot of interceptions and was guilty of the world’s most famous buttfumble. These are not qualities that endear one to a fan base.

But it’s not like he had a fake girlfriend or anything.

The (former?) Jets quarterback just posted an Instagram video in which he gets his stitches removed after undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery. He’s been nothing but publicly supportive of a team that sent him into the fourth quarter of a meaningless preseason game behind a journeyman offensive line, and then replaced him with rookie Geno Smith.

Yet he is as detestable as the player who got the largest fine in NFL history and is known for the Suh Stomp?

It must be true. Survey says so.
