Taking stock of blocks

The Boston Celtics rank 11th in the league in terms of having their shots blocked (4.8 per game), but that number has spiked a bit during this four-game losing streak, jumping up a full block per game. During that four-game stretch, Jeff Green has been swatted seven times and Avery Bradley six more. A look at where individual Celtics players rank this season in terms of blocked shots per attempt:


You'd expect Bass, an undersized frontcourt player, to endure his fair share of blocks. By comparison, Glen Davis had 8 percent (64 of 801 attempts) during the 2010-11 season... Green's number seems surprisingly high just because of his athleticism and leaping ability... Some have wondered if Bradley's blocked attempts are up. Looking back to last season, he had 32 of 402 attempts swatted (8 percent), so he's actually down a tiny bit with his 3-point attempts rising.
