Heading into the Sweet 16, none of the 8.15 million brackets got all teams correctly. Four brackets got the closest, picking 15 of 16 teams correctly, while another 760 got 14-of-16. On the other end of the spectrum, 1,046 brackets got none of the Sweet 16 teams.

The biggest surprise Sunday was Florida Gulf Coast becoming the first 15-seed to reach the Sweet 16. Just 0.95 percent of brackets picked the Eagles to reach this round, and a whopping 2,354 brackets have them winning it all. Interestingly, 0.3 percent of brackets predicted the Florida-Florida Gulf Coast matchup in the Sweet 16.

The other double-digit seed to reach the Sweet 16, 13-seed LaSalle, was picked in just 1.3 percent of brackets to reach the Sweet 16. Also, just 966 total brackets correctly predicted the four teams from the West region reaching the Sweet 16 (Ohio State, Arizona, Wichita State, LaSalle).

Interestingly, there were 30,093 brackets (0.4 percent) to pick Florida Gulf Coast and LaSalle to reach the Sweet 16.

Other interesting Sweet 16 combinations
  • 20,353 brackets (0.2 percent) had Florida, Florida Gulf Coast and Miami.
  • 46 percent of brackets had the top four Big Ten teams (Indiana, Ohio State, Michigan State, Michigan). The East bracket was the only one where all four top seeds advanced. 35.5 percent of brackets picked those four teams to advance. It's a far cry from all the other regions, as noted below.
