Buehler misses kick, makes no excuses
He was wide right on a wide right on a 34-yard field goal attempt in the second quarter.
Now so much happened between the missed kick and the end of the game, but the Cowboys' 13-7 loss to the Washington Redskins might have had a different tone if the team had those extra three points.
"Missed it, no excuses, just can’t do it," Buehler said. "I just pushed it. Just hung out there. I thought I hit it pretty well, but it tailed off and kept going."
In the preseason, Buehler made 10-of-11 field goal tries and was confident about going into the season.
It would appear the Cowboys would have Buehler on a short leash but owner/generla manager Jerry Jones said the team has no plans to replace him.
Wade Phillips said he was disappointed in Buehler missing the kick and would like for him to get another shot.
"It's unfortunate I didn’t get another chance," Buehler said. "That's what I wanted but you know I got to make all my kicks."
