Cowboys slot cornerback Orlando Scandrick had surgery to repair a broken left hand Friday morning, according to a source. It hasn't been determined if Scandrick's season is over. Scandrick suffered the injury in the first half of Thursday's loss to the Washington Redskins.

Scandrick' isn't the only player with a health issue.

Inside linebacker Bruce Carter has an elbow injury and his status hasn't been determined. There's a possibility Carter could play with a brace.

Defensive end Jason Hatcher suffered a concussion in the loss and would need to pass NFL mandated tests to return.

Wide receiver Miles Austin, who was lost in the first half, has a right hip strain.

The Cowboys lost three starters and one primary backup player in the Redskins game.

The Cowboys were already without nose tackle Jay Ratliff, center Phil Costa, running back DeMarco Murray and backup center Ryan Cook, backup wide receiver Kevin Ogletree and pass down defensive end Sean Lissemore against the Redskins.
Calvin Watkins joined ESPNDallas.com in September 2009. He's covered the Cowboys since 2006 and also has covered colleges, boxing and high school sports.
