Stephen Jones not giving up playoff chances
While coach Jason Garrett chooses not take a broad view of the league, at least publicly, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones did when talking about the Cowboys’ playoff chances.
“We have just as good a chance as anybody else,” Jones said. “We’re, I guess, a game out of the wild card and two games out of the division lead, so we’re going to fight and play hard. We’ve played a lot of good teams, and I feel like on any given Sunday we can play with them.”
Jones wasn’t exactly singing “Blue Christmas” on Monday either, considering the health of the overall team but the defense in particular.
“Injuries are a part of this game,” Jones said. “Everybody’s got them. We’re going to be lining up against teams signing the same blues: We’ve got injuries. That’s just part of it. We’ve got good football players on defense. We’ve got really good football players on offense and put this thing together and battle hard and good things will happen for us.”
