A look at the snaps played by Cowboys defenders in the team’s 28-18 loss to the Washington Redskins, while analyzing what it means:

S Gerald Sensabaugh: 62 of 62
CB Brandon Carr: 61 of 62
OLB Anthony Spencer: 58 of 62
LB Ernie Sims: 56 of 62
DE Jason Hatcher: 47 of 62
DL Sean Lissemore: 39 of 62
ILB Dan Connor: 34 of 62
S Eric Frampton: 34 of 62
OLB DeMarcus Ware: 33 of 62
DE Marcus Spears: 32 of 62
DE Tyrone Crawford: 29 of 62
ILB Alex Albright: 28 of 62
CB Mike Jenkins: 25 of 62
OLB Brady Poppinga: 24 of 62
DE Brian Schaefering: 16 of 62
OLB Victor Butler: 11 of 62
CB Sterling Moore: 8 of 62
S Danny McCray: 3 of 62

Linebacker Demarcus Ware, who will need surgery to repair injuries to his right elbow and shoulder, played a season-low 33 snaps and didn’t make much of an impact. He struggled against Robert Griffin III and the zone read all night. Ware played just seven snaps in the first half as the Cowboys tried to limit his playing time until they absolutely needed him. The Cowboys used backups Alex Albright and Victor Butler to replace him, and neither had much success. ... Danny McCray, exposed late in the season at safety, played just a handful of snaps as he returned to his full-time role on special teams. ... Brady Poppinga, who vowed to inflict pain on Griffin, had trouble consistently forcing running plays inside and was a non-factor.
