EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The final day is upon us for a minicamp that has been kind of eventful -- for things that have happened mostly off the field.

The Giants started camp with David Diehl's apology and then Jake Ballard was waived and claimed by the Patriots. Tom Coughlin was frustrated and Jerry Reese didn't feel the need to explain the thinking behind why the Giants waived Ballard while freeing up a roster spot to re-sign Rocky Bernard.

On the field, there's competition at several spots. We'll keep you updated on how things shape up and how rookies like David Wilson and Rueben Randle are doing, heading into next month's training camp.

Here's how things looked in practice on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Also, Travis Beckum's recovery appears to be going smoothly and Bear Pascoe will miss his good friend Ballard but also will have plenty of opportunities to show what he can do at tight end.

Stay tuned for more updates today on the blog.
