EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Tom Coughlin believes defensive tackle Markus Kuhn has suffered an ACL injury that could end the rookie's season.

Kuhn suffered a knee injury in the second half of the New York Giants' 31-13 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

"The poor kid has got an ACL injury," Coughlin said Monday. "I haven't seen anything really official [yet]."

The seventh-round draft pick not only made the team this season, but he became a steady contributor as a backup to starters Linval Joseph and Chris Canty. Kuhn had eight tackles and batted down four passes this season.

The Giants still have Rocky Bernard and Marvin Austin as backups. Austin figures to see more time in the rotation.

Coughlin said several of players will undergo medical examinations Monday and Tuesday before taking a break during their bye week. Running back Ahmad Bradshaw, who said he underwent X-rays on Sunday but would not give any more specifics, will undergo a battery of tests. Bradshaw did say that he did not need X-rays for his injured foot.

Coughlin did not offer any more detail on wide receiver Domenik Hixon, who left the game after one catch due to an ankle injury on Sunday.
