Giants lose Douglas off practice squad

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Wide receiver David Douglas will be signed off the New York Giants' practice squad by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a source confirmed.

Douglas had an impressive training camp and has been on the Giants' practice squad all season. The Giants have Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz, Domenik Hixon, Rueben Randle, Ramses Barden and Jerrel Jernigan ahead of Douglas on the active roster.

Douglas now will provide Tampa offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan with receiving depth. Sullivan was the Giants' quarterbacks coach prior to joining Tampa this season.

The Giants made a roster move earlier on Wednesday when they added offensive lineman Selvish Capers to the active roster to take the roster spot of defensive tackle Markus Kuhn, who was placed on IR last week after knee surgery.

The Giants then signed offensive lineman Stephen Goodin to take Capers' spot on the practice squad.
