Ramses Barden will be a free agent this spring, and he gave teams a brief preview of what he can do as a starter in one game last season.
So while Barden might take a look to see what opportunities are out there in free agency, the receiver says he would like to remain a Giant.
"I would love to re-sign with the Giants," Barden said in an interview with Vibe magazine. "I've made [NYC] a home, made friends here and media connections for my life after football.
"I know it's a business, so at the end of the day, a business decision will be made," Barden continued. "My agent and I just have to sit down with the Giants' management and hopefully both parties can find a way to keep me around. Free agency doesn't open until March, so I'll have a better idea of where I'll be playing then."
The 6-6 Barden, drafted in the third round in 2009, only has 29 receptions for 394 yards in four seasons. He has dealt with injuries and hasn't been used much by the Giants. However, Barden excelled last season in a start at Carolina, when he had nine receptions for 138 yards while filling in for Hakeem Nicks.
The Giants have Nicks, Victor Cruz (a restricted free agent), Rueben Randle and Jerrel Jernigan at receiver. Like Barden, Domenik Hixon is one of the Giants unrestricted free agents.
