ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter says New York Giants linebackers coach Jim Herrmann is interviewing for the Philadelphia Eagles’ defensive coordinator opening, according to a league source.

Herrmann just completed his fourth season as linebackers coach for Tom Coughlin. Prior to that, he coached linebackers with the Jets from 2006-08. Before coming to the NFL, Herrmann spent two decades on the University of Michigan coaching staff, and served as defensive coordinator there from 1997-2005.

Herrmann oversaw a linebackers unit that included Chase Blackburn, Michael Boley, Mathias Kiwanuka, Jacquian Williams, Keith Rivers, Mark Herzlich and Spencer Paysinger.
