Jenkins to visit with Giants

February, 28, 2013
Veteran defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins will visit with the New York Giants over the next 24 hours as a possibility to replace Chris Canty.

According to, the former Eagle underwent a physical and was scheduled to have dinner with coaches on Thursday night before visiting the team facility on Friday.

The Eagles released Jenkins on Monday. The Giants make a lot of sense for Jenkins since the team is looking to replace Canty, who was released in a cap-cutting move recently. The Giants currently have Linval Joseph, Shaun Rogers, Marvin Austin, Markus Kuhn and Bobby Skinner at defensive tackle on the roster.

Jenkins, 32, had 26 tackles and four sacks last season for the Eagles. The 6-foot-2, 305-pound veteran has a total of 38.5 sacks since coming into the league in 2004 with 21 sacks coming over the past four seasons.
