The Giants addressed another need on the roster by agreeing to terms with backup quarterback David Carr.

Carr will sign a one-year deal, a source confirmed. Carr tested the free-agent market, but returns to back up Eli Manning again.

Carr gives the Giants an experienced backup who knows the system and works well with Manning. The Giants also have Curtis Painter on the roster.

I like the move because it ensures continuity for Manning and the offense. But at some point, I would like to see the Giants bring in a young guy to develop for the future. I get that Manning has several more years left in him. But in the next year or two, the Giants could start thinking about bringing in a guy for Manning to groom.

I wouldn't want to see the Giants use a high pick on a quarterback, of course. That is unnecessary. But having a young guy to learn from Manning for a couple of years might not be such a bad idea.

What do you guys think of bringing back Carr, and what would you want the Giants to do with the backup QB spot?
