Giants offseason workout schedule

The NFL released its Offseason Workout Program calendar on Thursday.

The Giants will start their voluntary offseason workout program on Apr. 15. Here are the key dates:

OTA workouts: May 22-23, May 29-31 and June 3-7

Giants mandatory minicamp: June 11-13

The voluntary offseason workout programs provide training, teaching and physical conditioning for players. The nine-week offseason program is divided up in three phases.

The first two weeks are activities designed for strength, conditioning and physical rehabilitation only.

The next three weeks consist of on-field workouts that can include individual instruction and drills and team practice "conducted on a 'separates' basis." There is no live contact and no offense-against-defense drills.

Teams can conduct a total of 10 days of OTAs over the next four weeks of the program. Live contact is not allowed but teams can conduct 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills.

Teams are allowed to hold a rookie development program for seven weeks.
