Steppin' to the AM: Cruz's foot

It was an ugly night for the Giants on Sunday.

The only thing that matters, though, is the status of Victor Cruz's bruised heel and David Baas' left knee. Both players underwent X-rays, which came out negative. The team is hoping Cruz's injury isn't serious while a source says Baas suffered a sprained MCL.

Both players will undergo tests today. Tom Coughlin will have a conference call with reporters at 4 p.m. ET, so, hopefully, he will shed some more light on the two Giants offensive starters.

In case you missed it: Justin Tuck shows up on the injury report with a strained hamstring and Hakeem Nicks talks about how he came out of his first preseason game in the injury report.

TC was upset with the team's red zone struggles and 10 penalties, including one on him for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Justin Pugh made his preseason debut. We'll have to see how Baas' injury impacts the rookie's role.

Aaron Ross knows he will get some heat for the interception he let get away.

The 4-1-1: The Giants are off today but will be back on the field on Tuesday.
