JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- After a positively awful first half, the Jets repaired to their locker room, down 3-0, looking for a spark. Brandon Moore, a man of few words, provided it.

The veteran right guard gathered the offensive line and, according to several players, said: "We need to step up our game. This isn't good enough." Among other things.

That, they said, resulted in an attitude adjustment. The Jets rushed for 116 of their 166 yards in the second half, helping the team to a 17-10 victory over the Jaguars.

Bilal Powell and Shonn Greene split the production, rushing for 78 and 77 yards, respectively. They each scored a toucdown, as the Jets scored on three of their first four possessions in the second half. They beat down the 31st-ranked defense in the league.

"I think our offensive line really took the game over in the third quarter," Rex Ryan said.

On this day, the Jets needed to run the ball because they didn't want to put embattled QB Mark Sanchez in too many obvious passing situations. Sanchez hit a 10-yard pass on the first play of the third quarter, but they ran Greene on the next four plays for 25 yards, setting the tone.

Moore downplayed his speech, saying, "What was said doesn't matter." LG Matt Slauson called it "old wisdom from an old vet ... That was all it took."

The Jets' running game has made slow progress in recent weeks. In fact, they're averaging 182 yards per game over the last four. They'll need that to continue because the passing game is in shambles.
