The Knicks are in Milwaukee on Wednesday trying to shake off Monday's overtime loss to the Brooklyn Nets.

So far, so good. Here are a few observations from the first half:

MELO HOT AGAIN: Once again, Carmelo Anthony's off to a hot start.

Anthony has 20 first-half points on 5-for-11 shooting, including 3-for-4 from beyond the arc. He also has five rebounds.

Anthony leads the NBA in first-quarter scoring and has been red hot early on in recent games, scoring more than 15 points in three straight first quarters last week.

With no Jason Kidd (back spasms) and J.R. Smith in early foul trouble (he has three), the Knicks will need Anthony, Ray Felton and Tyson Chandler to put the ball in the basket.

Felton has 10 points on 4-for-7 shooting -- a nice bounceback from his 3-for-19 performance against Brooklyn. Chandler has eight points as well.

PRIGIONI POWER: With Kidd out, the Knicks needed Pablo Prigioni to play big minutes in the back court. So far, the 35-year-old rookie has held up just fine.

He has eight points and has knocked down both of his 3-point attempts in his best performance of the season thus far. Prigioni helped the Knicks put up 35 points in the second quarter and the Knicks outscored the Bucks by 13 in Prigioni's 11 minutes. Milwaukee native Steve Novak also has eight points and has hit two of his three 3-point attempts.

BIG HALF FOR BUCKS BACKCOURT: The Knicks had a tough time containing Monta Ellis and Brandon Jennings in the first quarter. The Bucks guards combined for 20 points in the first but finished the half with 15 each. Ronnie Brewer started out on Jennings and Felton started out on Ellis. No other Buck has more than six points in the first half.
