Tyson Chandler, who has missed the past two games with a left knee contusion and neck strain, will have an MRI on his neck Tuesday morning in New York, league sources told ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard. Chandler, arguably the Knicks' MVP for his game-changing play on both ends of the floor, hadn't missed a game all season until the team's West Coast road trip.

Head coach Mike Woodson said that Chandler will likely undergo tests on his neck when the Knicks return home on Tuesday, according to reporters in Utah.

In addition, backup center Kurt Thomas, who had been starting in place of Chandler, has a right foot injury. According to reports, he will attempt to play Monday night against the Jazz. However, Carmelo Anthony (right hamstring) will not, missing his sixth game out of the team's past eight.

Chandler and Thomas aren't the only hurt Knicks' big men. Amar'e Stoudemire (right knee debridement) and Rasheed Wallace (left foot fracture) are out for the remainder of the regular season.

The overall injury situation intensifies the question: Should they cut Thomas or Wallace to sign a younger big man? But the field is pretty desolate, which includes Tony Battie, Josh Boone, Brian Cook, Dan Gadzuric, Troy Murphy, Ben Wallace, Hassan Whiteside and Sean Williams.

Therefore, the Knicks may favor adding a younger, yet experienced point guard, hence why they're monitoring Delonte West in the D-League. Currently, a source told ESPNNewYork.com that the Knicks don't know if they are willing to cut a player to sign someone else.
