Redskins QB Robert Griffin III fined $10,000

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III's T-shirt read "Operation Patience." Turns out it was Operation Paycheck as well.

The NFL fined Griffin $10,000 for wearing unauthorized apparel, the league confirmed Thursday. Griffin wore his T-shirt while warming up before the Pittsburgh game Monday. Griffin dressed in full uniform during the game, even though he didn't play. But the NFL requires players to follow their uniform rules before the game, too.

The NFL fined Griffin $10,000 for wearing adidas clothing at one of his post-game news conferences last season; the league has a deal with Nike.
