Like many of you, I watched the "#APCallBlake" campaign ramp up Monday night on Twitter. Friends of a New York teenager named Blake Cognata tweeted Minnesota Vikings tailback Adrian Peterson, requesting that he call Cognata and offer encouragement as he battles a rare form of cancer.
Peterson According to the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, Peterson saw the requests -- which gained momentum thanks to the hashtag -- and called Cognata on Monday night. His mother told the newspaper: "It was just the most amazing thing. He's been glowing all night."
Peterson's assistant (and uncle) Chris Brown confirmed that he made the call.
Cognata is hospitalized while fighting Ewing's sarcoma, a form of bone cancer that affects children and young adults.
I guess this is the part where I should say something nice about Peterson. In this case, however, actions speak louder than any words I can offer.
