We're Black and Blue All Over:
Good Monday morning to all of you. I snuck out the back door late last week after the Chicago Bears completed their coaching search, hiring Marc Trestman to replace Lovie Smith after a 2 1/2-week search. All is well. Just a long weekend when the football world was focused elsewhere.
(Just the same, I appreciate the "Hey Seifert, I would work every day if I got to write about football for a living" tweets and notes.)
We'll catch up this morning on the Bears' largely-completed coaching staff, re-set the NFC North Pro Bowl roster and take a quick peak at an NFC North angle in Super Bowl XLVII. But first, let's catch up on some local stories while also thanking our ESPN.com blog network editing team for posting links in my absence:

But first, let's catch up on some local stories while also thanking our ESPN.com blog network editing team for posting links in my absence:
- Dan Pompei of the Chicago Tribune looks at the offensive tackles that Trestman and general manager Phil Emery will be scouting at the Senior Bowl.
- Trestman has a history of first-year success in his career, notes Mark Potash of the Chicago Sun-Times.
- Here is some tough analysis of the Green Bay Packers from Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: "They're a soft football team, and in a sport that forever favors the tough, soft is a very, very bad thing to be."
- Rob Demovsky of the Green Bay Press-Gazette published his grades for the 2012 Packers over the weekend. There were only two grades higher than B+.
- Packers guard Josh Sitton will play in the Pro Bowl, replacing San Francisco 49ers guard Mike Iupati, who will be playing in the Super Bowl.
- Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is also a Pro Bowl replacement, taking the spot of the 49ers' Justin Smith.
- From Friday: The Lions have agreed to hire John Bonamego as their special teams coordinator, replacing Danny Crossman, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. Bonamego spent last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- Justin Rogers of Mlive.com offers five Senior Bowl players for Lions fans to keep an eye on.
- Bids to build the Minnesota Vikings' new stadium are due Monday, notes Richard Meryhew of the Star Tribune.
