ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson was out at practice for the second straight day for the Lions, working in individual routes and catching passes.

He also did not have a brace on his knee, but just a compression sleeve on his leg.

While Johnson and linebacker Ashlee Palmer, who usually takes Thursdays off, returned, tight end Tony Scheffler (concussion), running back Theo Riddick (concussion) and offensive tackle Jason Fox (knee) were all out.

So was safety Louis Delmas, but Delmas typically misses Friday to rest his ailing knees.

Johnson's return for the second straight day bodes well for his chances of playing Sunday against Cleveland.
