Devin Taylor in big spot for Detroit

November, 10, 2013
CHICAGO -- Devin Taylor began his rookie season two months ago as one of the inactives for the Detroit Lions.

Now, entering the second half of the season, he will be one of the Lions' starters.

With defensive end Ziggy Ansah inactive for the first time Sunday against Chicago due to an ankle injury, Taylor will start in his place and likely see a majority of the snaps next to defensive tackle Nick Fairley.

Taylor has played well in his limited snaps this season, registering eight tackles, a sack and a forced fumble.

Detroit's other inactives are wide receiver Nate Burleson, quarterback Kellen Moore, running back Mikel Leshoure, cornerback Bill Bentley, guard Leroy Harris and tackle Corey Hilliard.

Returner Micheal Spurlock is active again after being inactive against the Cowboys, and running back Montell Owens, who was designated as injured reserve with returning eligibility, is active for the first time.
