The last Washington quarterback to play in a Rose Bowl is returning to the Huskies to coach his former position.

Marques Tuiasosopo, UCLA's tight ends coach this past season under former Washington player Jim Mora, has been hired to coach the Huskies' quarterbacks.

Tuiasosopo was the 2001 Rose Bowl MVP and led the Huskies to a No. 3 final ranking. He was the 2000 Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year and played in the NFL for eight years.

With Tuiasosopo taking over the quarterbacks, offensive coordinator Eric Kiesau now will oversee receivers, replacing Jimmie Dougherty, who last week was named San Jose State's offensive coordinator.

The Huskies still must replace running backs coach Joel Thomas, who was hired by Arkansas.
