Much was said about the fast, firm greens of Pebble Beach prior to Thursday's first round of the U.S. Open Championship. The often unpredictable weather is another element players have to battle while playing the historic course. Pebble Beach Golf Links is set up at 7,040 yards and plays to a par of 35-36—71.
