LPGA Hall of Famer Annika Sorenstam cut the pointer finger on her left hand just above the top knuckle in a cooking accident last week.

According to USAToday.com, Sorenstam, 42, cut the digit as she made dinner last Thursday in Lake Tahoe for her family and friends.

She tweeted a photograph of the gruesome wound Tuesday and added that she hopes to have the stitches out in a week.

Sorenstam won 59 times on the LPGA Tour, including 10 major championships. She is doing work as a TV analyst while running her own company and raising her two children with husband, Mike McGee.

"She was doing her thing in the kitchen, which she does every night, and all the sudden, I heard a screech," McGee told Golfweek. "She said, 'Mike, I need a big Band-Aid quickly please.' We cleaned it a little and it was apparent she'd need stitches, so she got them that night.

"She's fine, though. No damage other than the outside. Skiied the next day and has been back at it in the kitchen."
