As she embarks on her first week of training, Sage gets support -- and words of wisdom -- from her husband and three children. As she says: "It is important to me to make sure that my kids see me doing this from Day 1. So they're going to see the beginning, middle and end as well. And they're going to see the days when I don't necessarily want to go out in the Connecticut winter weather and run. But what a lesson that teaches them: that if you say you're going to do something, you better do it, and you better do it the right way."
Steele has taken the runDisney challenge to train for, and compete in, the Feb. 26 Princess Half Marathon at Disney World. Running coach Jeff Galloway has put together a training regime for her to follow. She will share her journey with readers on espnW so check back regularly for videos from Steele and advice pros have shared with her as she trains.
