We still control our destiny

The season is halfway over for Richmond, but the part that counts the most is just beginning.

It's crazy to think the season is more than halfway over. Heading into our first conference game at Dayton, we are 3-5-2 overall, but in our last two games I have seen tremendous fight to our team and a burning desire to turn this thing around.

The beauty of starting conference play is that it's a new season. We are 0-0 and control our destiny.

We had a midweek game at American, which was a great final test for us heading into the focal point of our season. The game ended in a 3-1 victory over the Eagles. Our team walked off the field unscathed and in high spirits heading into our weekend at Dayton.

A road with no obstacles leads nowhere, and so far this season our team has faced our fair share. But each game I see our team grow stronger than we were before. I am confident heading into this new portion of our season that we are ready to strike.

Dayton will be a tough first opponent. We are due for a good result against a good opponent, and our first conference game is as good a time as any!
