Our team has been hitting the books and the practice field for four weeks now. This past week was busy school-wise, as we have officially finished one-fourth of the fall semester. With tests, papers, assignments and quizzes filling our brains, we were able to blow off some steam by staying connected to each other and making each other laugh through our team’s favorite app, Snapchat.
In my four years at Florida State, I've never been part of anything that generated as much excitement and hype or showcased as much competitiveness as what was on display in Tallahassee on Saturday night.
Hi. I'm Emily Young, a sophomore volleyball player at USC. I'll be posting blog entries here, and if you're nice, I might just throw in a little poetry from time to time. I'm looking forward to having fun with this, so read up and feel free to leave your comments.
All right people, we have started Big Ten play! We had an amazing alumni weekend that began with seeing old friends and finished with our first conference win -- 2-1 over Wisconsin on Sept. 16.
What’s better than playing ACC games?I am so lucky I get to compete in the ACC. As a French player, I didn’t know about the ACC until I came over to play for Florida State a little more than three years ago.
At the start of a new training week before our first conference game, my coach looked at my teammates and me to announce that we were halfway through our season. Although none of us realized how far along we were, his statement hit us as hard as a slap across the face.
Whenever we travel, my teammates and I always have one thing on our minds: What in the heck are we going to wear? Unlike most teams, we don't wear sweats on the plane. Instead, we take a more professional approach and dress in business casual.
The hype around Texas-Ole Miss had been mounting for months. If there's one thing Oxford is good at, it's gossip. Had I heard all the hotels were booked and houses were renting for $20,000? That ESPN's "College GameDay" was coming?
Our team is very talented, and I don't just mean on the field, either. Recently we challenged ourselves to learn how to do the perfect handstand. It all started this summer during the Olympics. Watching the Fabulous Five take on Russia and China and eventually win the gold got us all wanting to try our own gymnastics.
After playing in front of a record crowd at BYU and losing 3-1, the team was looking to take the positives from the weekend and implement them for our upcoming Big Ten opener. Since our season started, we have gotten into a set routine during the week to prepare us for the next game.
DURHAM, N.C. -- Almost as if it were yesterday, we return to Raleigh Durham International Airport. We are jet-setting yet again, but this time we are traveling to Florida to take on two of our ACC opponents in Florida State and Miami.
When you’re a child, all you dream about is what you want to be when you grow up. No one steps back and assesses all of the steps it takes to get to that final destination. In youth soccer, a lot of our dreams are the same.
I'm not particularly proud of this, but if I'm being honest, I will admit I had four Popeye's drumsticks for breakfast Saturday. And fried chicken tenders for lunch. And um, a couple ham biscuits snuck from the cooler after the game.
What a weekend!I wouldn’t be able to tell you why and where it comes from, but what I can assure you of is that the rivalry between Florida State University and the University of Florida isn’t just a myth, it is reality.
The bike racks are full, the lines are long and the campus is crowded. Yes folks, it's that time of year again. School has started and the Pilots women's soccer team has successfully survived the first week.
