Sitting on the airplane seat today, I was thinking -- I have been in different cities every week. Most of the time, it's because of golf tournaments. But occasionally, I also attend various events. All of a sudden, I feel like I am a business woman. Although sometimes I feel tired, I do enjoy this kind of life. I am very happy since when I am in different cities I can experience and learn different cultures!
After 10 hours of flight from the tropical island of Oahu, I finally arrived at the big metropolitan New York. I come to New York not for any golf tournament -- haha! -- it's for the Time 100 Gala.
Getting off the plane, we were immediately taken to the hotel. We only had about three hours to get ready, including freshening up and putting on makeup for this big event. I was fortunate that my team arranged all the logistics for this trip extremely well. They even had a makeup specialist for me, so I can look very pretty. I really appreciate what they have done for me.
About attending this gala, I feel very special and very refreshed. This was my first time to attend such a formal and glamorous party. Walking down the red carpet, suddenly I felt very special and different. All the flashlights from cameras and requesting voices from the media, the scene, it was just like what I remembered seeing on TV or a movie when I was a little girl -- the scene only when movie stars appeared. It's very difficult to describe the feeling, but I was extremely excited and very happy.
I also saw and met many famous people in different fields. I feel extremely blessed and honored to be on the list of Time 100 most influential people. Thank you to Time magazine for bestowing this honor on me. I will continue to work hard in my arena via the sports I love, to help and inspire many more people.
It was a good night -- in such an elegant and charming city. After tonight, I will fly back to the home country I miss greatly -- Taiwan. I shall have a beautiful dream tonight. I also wish everyone to have a beautiful dream.
