LSU's Rachele Fico picked first in NPF draft

The first four picks in the National Pro Fastpitch softball college draft were pitchers.

The Akron Racers made Rachele Fico (LSU) the first pick of 20 in the draft, which was held on Monday in Nashville. An All-American as a junior, Fico was 20-13 with a 1.12 ERA and 221 strikeouts.

Hofstra pitcher Olivia Galati was the second pick overall, by the New York/New Jersey Comets. Cal pitcher Jolene Henderson was picked third by the Chicago Bandits and Oklahoma pitcher Keilani Ricketts fourth by the USSSA Pride.

The NPF season opens on June 5. Here is a complete list of players who were drafted:
