Judoka Edith Bosch to retire

THE HAGUE, Netherlands -- Edith Bosch, the judo world champion who shoved a man at the London Olympics for throwing a bottle on the track before the men's 100-meter final, is retiring from the sport.

Bosch, the 2005 judo world champion, told Dutch national broadcaster NOS on Friday she will retire after the European Championships this month. She won a bronze medal in the middle-weight division at the London Games.

Bosch also won bronze in Beijing and silver in Athens.

Last August, she pushed Ashley Gill-Webb after he tossed a plastic beer bottle on the track and shouted abuse at Usain Bolt. In a statement read at Gill-Webb's trial, Bosch said she was angry at his "disrespectful" actions when she shoved him in the back.

Gill-Webb was convicted in January of public disorder.
