Sweet streaks

UConn basketball

Won 90 consecutive games.

Led by four-time All-America Maya Moore (No. 23 in photo), the Huskies went 39-0 in 2008-09. But they didn't merely win; they rolled. "There's this picture of Tina Charles, Renee Montgomery and me hugging seconds before the horn went off in the championship game," Moore says. "I'm saying something, and I remember what it was: 'No one came within 10 points of us. No one came close.'" After cutting down the nets, Moore sensed that the Huskies could do it all over again. And she was right. UConn went undefeated the following season, too, with an average victory margin of 35.9 points. Moore & Co. capped their all-time achievement the next fall, eclipsing the 88 straight wins reeled off by John Wooden's UCLA men. Finally, on Dec. 30, 2010, Stanford reminded the Huskies what it feels like
to lose.
