Lisa and Andre Roberson
Andre Roberson, a 6-foot-7 forward for Colorado, was the nation's fifth-leading rebounder last season. Much of the credit for that goes to his explosive hops. And a good deal of credit for those goes to his mother. Lisa Roberson was an all-conference volleyball player at New Mexico State in the late 1980s -- his father, John, played hoops there -- and she still ranks among the school's top 10 in kills and digs. "I've always looked up to her," says Andre, who'll be a junior this fall. Lisa sets the bar high. "I don't look at what he can do," she says of her son. "I look at how he can improve." Andre must like the advice, because he talks to his parents after every game. "Sometimes I don't like to hear it, because I know what I did wrong," he admits. "But I sit there and take it." Just like he gobbles up rebounds.
