Nine dad-daughter teams with game
Lexie and Dee Brown
He was blessed with all sorts of athletic gifts, as Dee Brown showed with his no-look jam that won the 1991 NBA Slam Dunk Contest. The 6-foot-1 guard averaged 11.1 points over 12 NBA seasons, primarily with the Celtics. And yet Brown concerns himself more with honing the mental side of his daughter's game. "My dad spends a lot of time molding my basketball IQ," Lexie explains. "He says some of the greatest players had great minds." As a 5-foot-9 junior guard at North Gwinnett (Ga.) High, Lexie averaged 19.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 4.9 steals per game last season, leading the program to its first state semifinal since 1963. This summer, she'll join USA Basketball's U-18 squad; next summer, she'll pack her bags for the University of Maryland. You don't have to be a deep thinker to see that Lexie is on her way.
