PRINCETON, N.J. -- Reggie Spencer made a go-ahead layup with two seconds to play, capping an 8-0 run as Northeastern beat Princeton 67-66 Tuesday night in a nonconference showdown.

With the Huskies (2-0) trailing 66-59 with 2:53 to play, Spencer knocked down a free throw and then Quincy Ford drained a 3 and made a pair of free throws to pull Northeastern within 66-65.

After Princeton's Mack Darrow missed a free throw with 11 seconds left, Spencer grabbed the rebound, then made the layup -assisted by Ford.

Ford set a career high with 27 points on 8-of-13 shooting with five 3-pointers and a team-best eight rebounds.

    Spencer finished with 16 points.

The Huskies shot 23 of 40 from the field, including 8 of 11 on 3-pointers.

Princeton's Ian Hummer tied his career high with 25 points, led the Tigers (1-1) with six rebounds -- all offensive -- and had five assists.
