LAS VEGAS -- A.J. Davis scored 18 points and made four 3-pointers, and James Madison used a blistering-shooting second half to race by San Jose State for a 77-68 win in the Vegas Holiday Hoops event on Saturday night.
After shooting just 25.8 percent en route to trailing 34-24 at halftime, the Dukes (4-6) made 18 of 23 shots (78.3 percent) from the floor during the final 20 minutes.
A 14-0 run over a 4:33 stretch in the second half by the Dukes wiped out their halftime deficit. The game was tied at 55-all with eight minutes left when James Madison went on a 12-2 surge punctuated by 3-pointers from Davis, Moore and Ron Curry, and San Jose State got no closer than six the rest of the way.
