HUNTSVILLE, Texas -- Paul Baxter had 16 points off the bench to lead five Sam Houston State players scoring in double figures in a 90-49 victory against Howard Payne on Saturday.
Terrance Motley added 15 points, Darius Gatson 13, Will Bond 11 and DeMarcus Gatlin 10 for the Bearkats (7-5), who never trailed.Brandon Gould scored 10 points to lead the Division III Yellow Jackets (3-8), who had 23 turnovers, were outrebounded 53-31 and shot just 34.5 percent (19 of 55) from the floor.The Bearkats outscored Howard Payne 46-14 in the paint.
