KENNESAW, Ga. -- Chris Perez scored 19 points, including a last-minute three-point play, to lead Stetson over Kennesaw State 70-60 Wednesday night in Atlantic Sun action.

Stetson scored the last 10 points to hand Kennesaw State (1-13, 0-2) its 12th straight loss.

Stetson (4-9, 1-1) led 56-46, but the Owls' 8-0 run pulled them within 56-54 on a layup by Aaron Anderson. When Myles Hamilton stuck a jumper with 1:29 left, it was tied 60-60.

But Stetson rebuffed the rally. Adam Pegg (14 points) converted a 3-point play. After an Owls' miss, Perez completed his three-point play with 0:36 remaining. Two free throws by Joel Naburgs with 0:19 left clinched it.

Stetson had a 3-point advantage, hitting 8 of 15 treys while Kennesaw State made 3 of 16. Stetson shot 25 for 41 (61 percent) from the floor, Kennesaw State 24 for 61 (39.3 percent).

Markeith Cummings led the Owls with 19 points.
