JONESBORO, Ark. -- Brandon Peterson had 15 points and 10 rebounds and Arkansas State held Florida Atlantic to its second-lowest point total in 17 years, defeating the Owls 63-38 Saturday night.

The Red Wolves (12-8, 6-5 Sun Belt) took control from the outset, jumping out to a 15-4 lead en route to a 30-18 halftime advantage. Arkansas State then scored 20 of the first 27 points in the second half to put the game out of reach.

Greg Gantt led Florida Atlantic (10-12, 5-6) with 13 points. The Owls shot just 32 percent from the floor, missed all 10 of their free-throw attempts and committed 21 turnovers. It was their lowest point total since a 79-35 loss to Virginia Tech on Feb. 4, 1995. They also scored 38 points in a 40-38 loss to Arkansas-Little Rock on Jan. 7, 2012.

Marcus Hooten added 14 points for Arkansas State, while Trey Finn and Kelvin Downs each had 11.
