CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- Hameed Ali and Joy Williamson scored 15 points apiece and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi won for just the third time this season, beating McNeese State 61-58 Saturday night.

Zane Knowles had 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds for the Islanders (3-18, 2-9 Southland), who had lost six in a row since a win at Lamar on Jan. 12. Their only other win came in the season opener against Texas Lutheran.

Keelan Garrett led the Cowboys (9-13, 3-9) with 12 points. Dontae Cannon added 11 points. Cannon's basket on Thursday was the game-winner in overtime against Sam Houston State.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi led 31-19 at halftime and though McNeese State got within two points, the Islanders held the lead throughout the second half.

McNeese's Kevin Hardy had seven assists, five rebounds and five blocked shots.
