WEST HARTFORD, Conn. -- Mark Nwakamma scored 23 points as Hartford defeated Stony Brook 60-55 Sunday for their first win over the Seawolves in their last 10 meetings.

The Hawks (14-10, 7-4 America East) erased a 39-30 second-half deficit with an 11-0 run. John Peterson, Nate Sikma and Evan Cooper hit 3-pointers and Nwakamma's jumper with 15:01 remaining gave Hartford the lead.

Stony Brook (17-6, 8-2) led once more, 45-44 with 8:49 left, but two layups and a 3-pointer by Nwakamma and a jumper by Yolonzo Moore II put Hartford in front to stay in a game postponed from Saturday because of the winter storm in the Northeast.

Hartford's shot 60 percent (12 of 20) in the second half to Stony Brook's 33.3 percent (8 of 24). The Hawks' 14 wins are their most since they went 18-16 in the 2007-08 season.

Jameel Warney's 21 points led Stony Brook, which had won four straight.
