FARMVILLE, Va. -- Devante Wallace scored 20 points as High Point cruised to an 85-59 win over Longwood on Saturday.
High Point (14-13, 10-4 Big South) raced out to a 10-point lead just 5:02 in as Wallace's 3-pointer made it 15-5 and the Panthers ran up a 49-28 lead at the break. High Point opened the second half on a 13-4 run and cruised to the win.
Lorenzo Cugini had 14 points for the Panthers while John Brown added 13. Jorge Perez-Laham had 11 assists, as High Point tied the program's record with 26 assists in the game. High Point shot 54 percent from the floor, 11 of 20 from beyond the arc and 12 of 15 from the line.
Tristan Carey led Longwood (8-21, 3-11) with 17 points and eight rebounds. Karl Zeigler finished with 11 points. The Lancers made just 1 of 12 3-point attempts.
