HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Sidney Sanders Jr. scored a career-high 31 points and dished out seven assists as Fairleigh Dickinson defeated Hofstra 86-67 Sunday.
The Knights (4-10) shot 52.9 percent from the field and hit 14 3-pointers. Matt MacDonald and Mustafaa Jones each sank four from beyond the arc, finishing with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Mathias Seilund and Scott Kinsgsley added 10 points apiece.Fairleigh Dickinson was nursing a four-point lead, but closed the first half on a 14-4 run capped by a Kingsley 3-pointer to take a 49-35 lead into the break. They pushed that lead to 25 early in the second half.Hofstra (4-10) could pull no closer than 15 the rest of the way, stumbling to a 38.8 shooting percentage and 3-of-18 performance on 3-point attempts. Zeke Upshaw paced the Pride with 22 points and Jamall Robinson contributed 11 with seven boards.
