JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- Rashawn Rembert scored 18 points and East Tennessee State hit 6 of 6 free throws in the final 30 seconds to hold off late-charging Stephen F. Austin for a 66-58 victory Saturday.
Hunter Harris gave ETSU (1-4) a 58-48 lead when he hit 1 of 2 free throws with 3:48 to play but Deshaunt Walker and Jacob Parker each hit 3-point shots to pull within four points just over 2 minutes later.
Harris' layup with 1:02 remaining gave the Buccaneers a 60-54 advantage before Walker corralled a missed 3-pointer by Parker and put it back to trim the deficit to four with just 30 seconds to play.
A.J. Merriweather had 12 points and nine rebounds for ETSU.
Parker led Stephen F. Austin with 19 points and 12 rebounds, seven offensive.
