Buzzer-beater lifts Tulsa over UTSA 72-70 in OT

    Associated Press

TULSA, Okla. -- D'Andre Wright scored on a tip-in at the buzzer on Sunday and Tulsa escaped with a 72-70 win in overtime against Texas-San Antonio.

Wright's basket was the second putback that Tulsa (17-12, 12-3 Conference USA) attempted in the final seconds. Shaquille Harrison missed a layup at 4 seconds and Brandon Swannegan missed on a follow-up jumper with 2 seconds left.

Keon Lewis hit two free throws to pull UTSA (8-20, 4-11) even at 70 with 33 seconds left.

James Woodard had 19 points, Stevie Repichowski 13 and Wright 12 for Tulsa. The victory kept the Golden Hurricane atop the conference in a four-way tie with Louisiana Tech, Southern Miss and Middle Tennessee.

Devon Agusi had 17 points and Keon Lewis scored 13 to lead the Roadrunners. UTSA, which last led at 60-59 with 3:28 left in regulation, rallied at the end of both regulation and overtime to tie the game.
